The LAARC held its monthly meeting, July 1, 2012 at 2;00 pm Pacific time at the CANNDUNC CERT Training center at 7600 Avalon Blvd in Los Angeles Ca. The meeting was opened by President Barry at 2:10 PM. All officers were present. Minutes were read by secretary Don and were approved with some corrections. The treasurers report was read by Archie and was approved as read. We had 28  hams and others present. After introductions, club business was conducted. We discussed Field Day and how well it went. Some newer hams stayed most of the nite making many contacts. We had the computers doing the "Logging" and some younger children made some contacts I/A/W  ARRL rules. Some of the wire antennas were placed in high trees by throwing a 'fishing line and sinker up and over trees' and pulling up the antenna hardware. A 2mtr/440 Colinear verticle and 2mtr/440 Loops were put up on a dirt Berm , but fell and the loops bent and the collinear top section split. The loops were put aside and VHF continued to use the collinear. Because time had passed VHF reports were low. The club had 4 generators and plenty  of power. Food was plentiful and the 'food crew' must be congratulated. At this meet, the New Field Day commitee was selected. A budjet commitee was set up with the Treasurer and 4 vollenteers to slect funding info and methods. They will report with ideas at our next meeting. Our 'General License Class' is continuing at a different location , due to the upgrade of our present location. Pres. Barry has all info on what, when. and where we will finish the classes and testing. Because of the remodleing of our present meeting place,  the Club must find a Temporary place to hold meetings for about 18 months or more. All help in locating a Free meeting location will be appreciated. The club had a 'de-breifing' of all that went on during Field Day and the rest of our operations. We had severl dignitaries from ARES, CERT, and  ARRL and about 35 visitors. Several of our people will have there pictures in a local paper.  The LAARC thanks the amateurs that attended this meet and hopes there will be more in attendance at our next meet.  The LAARC held its monthly meeting, August 5, 2012 at 2;00 pm Pacific time at the South Los Angeles Sheriff's Station. The Station is located at 1310 West Imperial Highway, Los Angeles California. This meeting was held in the Community Room. The Community Room has two (2) entrances. The main entrance is the double doors facing North toward Imperial Highway. There is a second entrance facing West just inside the main entrance of the Sheriff's Department to the right (West) of the main doors. Parking is available in the Imperial Highway front entrance parking lot. The meeting was opened by President Barry at 2:10 PM. All officers were present. Minutes were read by secretary Don and were approved as read. The treasurers report was read by Archie and was approved as read. We had 30 hams  present. Because our meeting place (CANNDUNC) is being remodeled, the Club must find a temporary building  for about eighteen (18) months to hold our meetings . All help in locating a FREE meeting place will be appreciated by all. There are a few places some members are looking to try and aquire, but all place selections must go through Barry for club approval. The club had two (2) former members that were in attendence, one of the past members was a Past President. They rejoined and were given Lapel Pins.  Because Don had to leave early, Ester volunteered to finish taking minutes. Since there was no one to write a receipt for Dues Paid, Archie wrote one on paper, collected money and deposiited funds into the bank. A 50/50 drawing was held and Ted won some cash. Some discussions were held on where the club should meet for our next meeting  but nothing was confirmed. The LAARC thanks the amateurs that attended this meet and hopes there will be more in attendance at our next meet. The LAARCs weekly FM simplex net is every Saturday nite at 8:00 PM on 144.430. All are welcome to checkin and say hi. KD6OLH (Archie) NCS.

Willis asked to start a Christmas Fund which was approved by the club. A report was made by Bill on the LAACARC, and how they are having problems just like every other club. Pete was not at this meet so his report was tabled till the next meet. Our most recent bill for F/D food was paid.
