About Me

Hello  from John Ruckert, WB6-ATN.  My actual present station location is Northwest of  Los Angeles City College, & Bralle Institute - where I taught Basic Ham-Radio for 5 years in the 1980's.  Among my favorite achievements about that same time, was being a member of the Southern California ATV Club, & our members in the Long Beach area re-broadcast Jay Leno doing a 10-minute monologue of  Astronaut jokes - up to the Astronauts, as they flew over the southwest USA !  Earily memories during the mid to late 60's, were of quickly preferring VHF / UHF Simplex & Repeater QSO's, after making many world-wide contacts on the low-bands.   My  first  2-meter Transceiver was a Heathkit "Twoer", then upgraded to a Gonset  "Gooney-Bird"  Communicator 3,  & more recently Alinco Mobile's' for  2, 220 & 450.  Thank-you all  for the  "high-class fellowship" !
